Cinderella Project Now Accepting Dress Donations
Lafayette – UL Lafayette AmeriCorps, Deano’s Pizza, Cabelo Hair Studio, Hemline, and Bevo’s Lafayette are teaming up this year to collect prom dresses, shoes, and accessories for the 9th Annual Cinderella Project. The Cinderella Project makes prom dreams come true by providing beautiful dresses to local high school girls at no cost!
Donations of new or gently used dresses can be dropped off at Deano’s Pizza Bertrand or Kaliste Saloom Rd locations, the UL Lafayette AmeriCorps office, both locations of Bevo’s of Lafayette, or Cabelo Hair Studio for the entire month of February. Donations can include long or short dresses and should be dry cleaned and on hangers. Additional donation guidelines as well as operational hours for all drop-off locations can be found at www.cinderellaprojectla.org.
The 9th Annual Cinderella Project of Lafayette will be held on Saturday, March 19th at the Blackham Coliseum from 9am-1pm. UL Lafayette AmeriCorps first sponsored this event in 2008 and began its partnership with The Cinderella Project in 2011. With chapters now located in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, New Orleans, and Monroe, The Cinderella Project has distributed 4000 prom dresses to students at 84 high schools in 18 parishes statewide.
