Fifth Annual THE BACCHANALIAN benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana is proud to announce The Fifth Annual BACCHANALIAN, one of the agency’s premier special events. This one of a kind wine-tasting fundraiser will be held at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette on Saturday, June 20, 2015, with doors opening at 7:00pm.
A $225/team ($75 per person) minimum donation, 100 percent of which directly benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, entitles patrons to enjoy a sampling of delectable wines and hearty appetizers. Funds from the event will allow the organization to continue service to children in need of additional positive support and guidance.
Wine samples will be provided for every team at the event, along with ballots to rate their favorites. For all involved, it will be an evening full of great food, wine, and revelry! The team that brings the top favorite wine will take home everyone’s third unopened bottle of wine. The team that brings the least favorite bottle of wine will take home their unopened bottle of wine.

For thirty years now, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana has been reaching out to the youth of our community, serving at-risk children from primarily single parent homes. We do this by matching volunteer adult role models in one-to-one mentoring relationships with these children. The “matches” spend time together a few times each month doing activities they both enjoy. This can range from anything like fishing – to baking brownies – to playing in the park. When a volunteer becomes a “Big,” he/she commits to a minimum of one year with their “Little;” however, many of our matches choose to continue for several years thereafter. The experience of the relationship shared between “Bigs” and “Littles” is often life-changing . . . for both the child and the volunteer.
